Vatsala Ratnasabapathy, senior partner of our Dispute Resolution team and head of our Construction, Engineering and Arbitration practice, will be speaking at the “Expert Witness - Under the Spotlight!” seminar on 28 February 2025 (Friday). The event is hosted by The Academy of Experts (TAE), a UK legal institute based in London, with the objective of establishing and promoting high objective standards. TAE is an accrediting body for expert witnesses of all disciplines, independently run by experts for experts and those using them.

Drawing from her own rich experience in dispute resolution, she will be engaging in a panel discussion on counsel’s view of expert witnesses, and the effective use of experts in litigation. She is joined by distinguished practitioners Wong Hin Loong and Adrian See for the panel, which will be moderated by Soh Lieh Sieng. This is an excellent opportunity for attendees to gain insight into counsel’s perspective on expert witnesses.

The seminar will also feature two other sessions featuring panels of TAE members, where they will be discussing issues such as the thought process to go through before deciding whether a case requires expert evidence, the role of an expert witness, the qualities of a good expert, and how experts should navigate their relationship with counsel. These sessions will feature leading experts such as Nick Powell, Peter Hiebler, Ashish Chakravarti and others, and will be moderated by Kee Meng Fai and T. Kuhendran.

The event will run from 3.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. at the Seminar Room of the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC).
